Stepping Stones Academy
The Mustang Village is the name of the Stepping Stones Academy’s Micro Society program, which is a student-operated miniature society. In the Mustang Village students apply their basic academic skills towards learning to successfully function in a community as productive members of a society.
The Mustang Village includes a democratic government system, safety monitors, court system, post office, warehouse, bank, commerce department, and several entrepreneurial businesses. Students complete job applications and resumes, interview for jobs, and are then hired. They are paid when they attend work, as well as pay taxes each week. Students write and vote on laws, open checking and savings accounts, and keep business records, such as payroll ledgers and expense sheets. Through these many hands-on experiences, students better understand how their education is beneficial to them.

Governing Board Meeting Notice
Governing board meetings are held at least six times per year and are conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Law. The agenda is posted twenty-four hours in advance in the School Office and on the website. The public is invited to attend. Anyone wishing to be placed on the agenda should contact the school principals.
Meetings take place in the SSA Main Office or via Zoom.

SIX TIMES PER YEAR
Children are provided with a sequential and well-balanced educational program aligned with the Arizona Common Core State Standards and follows the guidelines established by the Arizona Department of Education.
Children learn the required skills by using a back-to-basics approach, practicing and mastering the skills in a safe and supportive environment, and applying the skills to real life situations through specialized programs.
Children in K-8th grades earn letter grades (ie: A, B, C, D, F) in all academic subjects.
