Stepping Stones Academy is once again participating in the Tax Credit program, which provides taxpayers with a way to directly donate money to Stepping Stones Academy and receive a refund or credit when they pay their taxes! Donations are currently being accepted in the School Office and may be given in one payment or several payments. Married couples may donate a maximum amount of $250, and single individuals may contribute a maximum amount of $200. The deadline for all donations is December 31, 2004.
A tax credit is a full refund of your dollars! The donation amount is subtracted directly from your taxes. For example, if you owe $600 in state taxes and you donate $250 to the school, you now send the state only $350 ($600 - $250 donation = $350). If the state owes you a $600 refund and you donate $200 to the school, you receive $800 ($600 + $200 donation = $800).
Under Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01), you are allowed to donate money to non-profit schools, such as Stepping Stones Academy. Married couples may donate a maximum amount of $250 and single people may donate a maximum amount of $200; however, Stepping Stones Academy welcomes any donation amount (ie: $25, $50, $100, or whatever fits your budget.) Upon receiving your donation, you receive a receipt and a copy of the Arizona Tax Form #322.
As per law, the money must be used to support extra-curricular, educational programs that directly benefit the students. In past years, the money has provided funds for school field trips; materials for the yearbook and music programs; and additional computer programs.
All people who file Arizona state taxes are eligible to participate in this program! They do not need to have children in school. Please encourage friends, relatives, and neighbors to participate in this program!
